Cline’s Democratic opponent Beth Macy had already made it clear that she had a previously scheduled event at the same time.
Commenters to Cline’s deceitful post were quick to post proof that– despite Cline’s assertion– the Salem Rotary Club event was never supposed to be a “debate.”
Beth Macy continues her effort to schedule genuine debates with Cline– in which each candidate answers questions on a series of issues and is in turn given a chance to respond to those answers. Ben Cline continues to evade genuine debates by trying to redefine the meaning of “debate.”
